Reconstruction & Redevelopment Consulting
A few years ago Dorsee had the privilege of working with homebuilder, Stonefield Development, to rebuild 81 homes that had burned down in Scripps Ranch. When the Cedar Fire hit San Diego in 2003, we were prepared to step in.

There is a tremendous difference between the current rebuilding efforts and those used during previous natural disasters. As a leading regional high-end custom builder,the Stonefield team quickly put together a plan that is nationally considered the prototype for rebuilding in natural disaster areas. Their plan and implementation was so attractive to some of the survivors who lost their homes that 81 families in the Whispering Ridge neighborhood of Scripps Ranch San Diego signed up with Stonefield. According to industry experts, this was the largest rebuilding effort after a natural disaster undertaken by a single developer. In previous natural disasters such as the Oakland-Berkeley Hills fire of October 1991, homeowners made individual deals with contractors. Now, that Stonefield's model has set the national blueprint for rebuilding homes after a natural disaster, Dorsee works to assistant the survivors of the Angora Wildland fire in South Lake Tahoe.
